Okay I would like to know a couple of things - one is this material available? Second, can you sew it using regular thread and all that?!?
I am asking because my DH went hunting and yup, ripped his pants! I have been asked to fix it! My problem is I have no idea where to find this material and I don't know if I can actually patch his pants! He ripped the area between the top of his legs to put it politely and I know Gortex is water resistant. There would be my problem - if I patch these pants I am going to not have water resistant pants, at least in that area! Am I correct?!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated from all you wonderful members!!!!
Thanks in advance!
Kendra

thanks for the info! I will try that!

I just found out from my husband that a simple patch won't cover what he ripped! Back to the drawing board!
But thank you for your advice!

LMBO My DB had a similar dilemma...
I told him patches can only work in some areas LOL He didn't think my idea of wearing a apron to cover his damaged gortex was very amusing

They make this stuff called GORE-SEAM that seals the seams in Gortex jackets. You could sew it and then apply this tape and it'll be sealed again. Of course, I had no luck finding it online when I looked.
