It came Saturday and wouldn't you know it, I got a cold, so I have only got to read the pattern. It is a Dereck Lockwood pattern called "lovers knot". Cant stand waiting but told myself must first get all started projects done and feel better. Has anyone here done one of Dereck's patterns, if so is there anything I should know befor I start? One thing the pattern stated was to quilt a bargello you quilt in the ditch of all pieces, this seems a little odd.(With a zillion pieces) I was wondering why?I know a lot of quilting would maybe take away form this beautiful pattern,But how( those of you that have) have you quilted a bargello?

I still need to quilt my bargello, and I plan on quilting it diagonally through all the squares, but would be interested in what others say :)
Have fun with your Bargello, I would love to do a Derek Lockwood one sometime.

I just finished one a couple of weeks ago for my DSIL and I quilted curlycews that looked like pools of water or circles in the water. Anyway she really like it and that is what really counts.http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-160286-1.htm

i don't blame you for wanting to get started right away - beautiful. feel better soon.

Several years ago I made Diamond Lites - it was fairly easy, but make sure you label your strips carefully. I love the results, mine looks just like the original color-wise, except I enlarged it.

I will be doing just a basic stipple with a thread color that matches, either brown, tan, teal, white. I want a quilting pattern that won't take away from the pattern of the quilt, but just a bit more than a diagonal through each block. I don't think a panto or any type of a specific pattern would work because they are too busy and draw attention away from the actual quilt pattern. JMHO
