Grab Bags
Has anyone ordered from The Fat Quarter Shop? 12 pound grab bag. I am interested in mostly strips for making string quilts. It states pieces. I just wondered what all is in there.
|
I have no idea. If it's 12 lbs that's a lot to me!
|
You get a variety of pieces anywhere from 2-3" by WOF to almost half yards. I have received some with odd squares too. I love them! Thinking I need to order a couple more soon! You get a few solids and a few pieces in almost all colors (reds, pink, blues, greens, etc.).
|
That seems like a good deal.
|
Here's a description of what one person got in her bag - http://bunks.wordpress.com/tag/fat-q...bag-12-pounds/
It sounds pretty good to me. |
I have ordered up to 5 of the boxes at a time. I have never been disappointed. The fabric is top quality. Perfect for scrap quilting, applique and projects.
|
Looks like a really great deal!!!!

At the site, search for grab bag. That is the only way I have been able to find them.
|
The 12 lb bags of fabric can be found in the odds and ends section. I just placed my order.
|
Sounds like a great way to enlarge your scrappy options!

They are on sale for 55.99 +10.00 shipping. |
Thanks so much for the link kbatky, I just ordered my box, hubby is going to "attempt" to stop me from getting on the Board everyday, I'm getting so many packages in the mail for materials and items for quilting that I've learned about on here

I was charged much less shipping then $10 on the final order of one box. When we get the boxes let's post the content pictures so we can see the difference in fabrics.

Must.
Have. Restraint. Can't. Hold. Out. Much. Longer. Buck-Forty-Five a Yard...HELP ME!!! |
san-sing,
I've ordered yardage many times from The Fat Quarter Shop, but not the grab bags. You could contact the shop, there is a toll free number. The store owner is very nice, she called me when there was a problem with my order. Sharon |
Haven't ordered that but have bought the 3# for $20 several times from Fabric.com and was very pleased with it. Mostly 1- .5 yard lengths, some had a piece missing (swatch?) but good stuff.

you quilty peeps in the states are so lucky. They will not ship the grab bags internationally. Typical. Fabric is so expensive in the uk. We pay in english pounds what you pay in dollars, sometimes more. Good job I like scrappy quilts.

Julie - look in the Odds and ends section using the list on the left hand side.

Ugh. I've been wanting to order this from them, but I've yet to allow myself to because of the cost of shipping. They are a whole twenty minutes from my house. -.- I wish I could just do a pick-up.

Jan x However, there are now so many great shops online and off that WILL ship all their items internationally that I don't feel frustrated anymore. I just don't bother even window-shopping at those that won't. My favourite shops use USPS flat rate boxes and envelopes for shipping, so the shipping cost stays reasonable, too. I really appreciate them! |

GAH! No restraint this time. I caved.
12 lb Grab Boxes are back at FQS for $55.99 with $10 ship (the shipping shows as $4.95 at checkout, but they adjust it in a separate transaction later). My box is sitting on my doorstep...I can't wait to get home to see what I got! I'll post on Bella's older post with pix. ref: http://www.fatquartershop.com/Odds-and-Ends.asp? |
