Ok friends, I need some info. I am getting a Grace Mini Pinni quilt frame with the templates & the Sure Stitch. Do I really need the cloth leader & is it reuseable or does it become part of the quilt. You get 3 in the package & I wasn't sure about it. Help.

The three should be one for the back to roll on, one for the top to roll on, and one for the takeup roller where you roll the finished quilt. I don't pin my top, but many people do. They are reusable over and over again. Some people pin to them and some people make zippers on them.

Do you have this? Also do you have the Stitch regulator? Do you think it is necessary.

You need a stitch regulator in one way or another. I do agree that you have enough to worry about when quilting a design. I have zippers on my leaders and would go without them.

I don't have zippers and I really don't feel like I need them. I would just as soon remove pins as basting stitches. It really is a matter of preference. I know people who refuse to go without the zippers.

If you are doing a lot of quilts, zippers are very quick & easy, as long as you have a vertical lock on your machine to do the 1 stitch per 3 inches to fasten them. I would not want to try without leaders. You would not be able to quilt the first 15" without the take up leader.

Ok excuse the dummy but how do you put zippers on it & how long are they.

I'm going to get the speed control for my quilting first, then worry about the stitch regulator. The speed control is lots cheaper. I just got my frame made. It is not the same one you got though. Mine is from scratch. Enjoy. You can also use velcro in place of zippers for your leaders.
