Just found a great price on the Brother 1500 & The Grace Start Right (queen) quilting frame. Does anyone have this frame. If so pros & cons. This will be a first for me, so I'd like to get it right. grin. I don't even know what questions to ask. LOL.

be sure and look at the reviews on the Brother 1500. The grace frame has a good reputation. Ask if the seller includes the leaders and clips, etc.

Looks like a good set up for starters. You ought to be able to upgrade to a machine with a larger throat for more quilting space, if and when you want/need one.
Leader clothes are easy to make. Check out Grace site to see exactly what you will need before you start. June in Cincinnati |
The only complaints Ive heard are about wooden frames.
Mine is a metal Imperial and a nice frame. |
I have a 4 year old Grace GMQ Pro frame that is essentially wood. It is in the basement (finished lower level) and there have been no problems. I have had to replace the tracks. Seems what Grace was using 4 years ago did not last. there is a Grace Machine Frame group on Yahoo and it has been discussed as how to buy and install metal that will make a quality, long lasting track. Shipping seems to be a problem for Grace, so they tend to use a flexible plastc that can be coiled, but in winter sub-zero weather, the track is cracked. I have a 3rd set of tracks on my frame.
