OK, I'm biting the bullet and looking for a frame that I can use with one of my current sewing machines. I've put in a bid on the one at ebay. Does anyone know anything about this frame??
Here is the website: http://graceframe.com/gfxoops/catalog/gmqpro.html Thanks in advance for all your help!! :D |
that's the frame I have my 15" Bailey on, I really like it

I have the Pinnacle (all metal) ... so, about the best I can tell you is that the Grace company provides a good service ... if you can get that frame for less than what the link showed, you will have made yourself a great step up to completely quilted quilts for the first one.
The fact that someone has a Bailey 15 inch machine on it, suggests that perhaps it will upgrade to a mid-arm (18")? if that is the case, that option is an added benefit. Now, I am all atwitter to find out how you make out on the auction and what you actually end up paying for it! <wave> |

I have only had my GMQ for a month, and I am on my fourth quilt! I bought in in a combo with a Juki 98Q and I love them both. I'm already thinking about a longer arm machine though. That will have to wait until next year.
My husband put it together for me, and I don't have a room big enough yet for the king size set-up, but I am finding it easy to use. |
I have the same frame and I really like it.

Well, I'm still the highest bidder and now I'm thinking, where the heck am I gonna put it???

I bought a GMQ Pro frame along with my Bailey 13" Home quilter 2 years ago. The frame is very sturdy and has 4 section that can extend to king size. My room will not allow for the King size extension, but I bought it with the intent of having the complete package when I stop quilting and sell my equipment.
It is a very strong frame and would take a larger machine easily if and when you plan to upgrade to a longer mid-arm machine. There is actually about 22 inches between the front pole and the take-up pole, so it will accommodate some of the longer mid-arm machines, which will allow you to do more quilting before you have to roll your quilt. I have never regretted investing in a good frame. June |
Oh, wow, such good information!! Thanks everyone!
Do you think it would be okay to use my Bernina 200 or Aurora 440 with this frame??? |
If you have machines that are less than 9" in the throat area, I would not think you would be happy with such a small area for quilting Some of the women who have 9" machines say they are reduced to about 4" to 5" quilting space. I am sure you understand how the quilt rolls on the pole into the throat area. Ask more questions if you need help. we are all willing to help.
I was amazed at such a low beginning bid. June |
Thanks June -- that's what I was wondering about. Might have to invest in a machine with a bigger throat. Any suggestions?
