I am getting ready to order my first quilting frame. I will be putting my Juki on it. Does anyone have the Grace Mini Pinni Aluminum frame and if so, do you like it? Any input would be great.

Try joining the homequiltingsystems group at http://groups.yahoo.com . Check their "files" section and old posts and/or post your question. This is a very active group and there are bound to be people there with experience who can advise you about that particular frame.

I have the grace pinnacle and if there would be one thing I would change, it would be the ability to lift the top rail so that you can smooth the batting, should you decide to let the batting float as you quilt. The INNOVA quilting system has that feature and wouldn't it be so much nicer to be able to just float the batting rather than trying to load it on to a bottom rail?
I could load the bottom rail by myself until I hurt my back awhile back ... now, I have to have help, and I am learning some pointers that the Grace company doesn't share.
Also, spend the extra money for the leader fabric/sleeves. It will save you many headaches and a lot of work. <wave>

ROFLOL .. I have been there, done that <g> sometimes, I almost think it was easier, but frankly, not having to try to pin the quilt layers while they are on my bed and keep from pinning the whole thing to my bedspread ... the frame works really grand.
You have a Juki ... that is a GOOD workhorse, you will love the way the machine glides along, forward, backward, up/down/sideways ... so fun! <wave>

I am curious ... why would you want the mini pinnacle?

littlehud 02-14-2010 02:04 PM

It seemed to be a good frame. It will fit in the space I have for it and comes with the speed controller. Other than that I really don't know. It just seemed like it would work for me. You may have guessed I know nothing about frames.

where are you shopping at? which site?
With the pinnacle frame, I have the option of switching up to an eighteen inch mid-arm machine ... but, I would like to see what options you are finding... are you shopping online? <wave>
