Grad gift
1 Attachment(s)
This is the top of a quilt I made for my granddaughter's high school graduation gift. I got the pattern for the pieced hearts online but made the piano key border out of the same fabrics I used in the hearts.
Haven't started quilting it yet. Was thinking about stitching in the ditch between the blocks to stabilize, then putting a stippling stitch around the outside of each heart. From there I have no clue. Maybe I can get some ideas? |
sounds great to me. i love your colors, and you can never go wrong with hearts. I love everything about this quilt.

Cute top! Outline stitching the hearts and a background stipple or meander sounds good.
If it were me, I would put the stitching guide on my walking foot and do diagonal straight stitch about 1.5" maximum apart, one direction only edge to edge, it would give it a puffy look and be so pretty. I love your quilt.
i would outline the hearts with a large stipple in the white areas. then SITD the piano keys
I love hearts and your quilt is wonderful! All those hearts just shows how much you love your DGD who will treasure this quilt!
Beautiful quilt!!!
What a great quilt! I think your ideas on how to quilt it would look very good. Lucky granddaughter!!

Your graduating granddaughter is going to love that quilt. You did a very good job & I love the colors!
I love your quilt. Very nice work!
Such a bright and cheerful quilt that will remind DGD of your love!
Such a colorful, bright quilt. Great job.
No clue about how to quilt, but I love that!
Love you quilt--so "full of love". How big are your blocks? I'm going to try to remember this one for my own granddaughter's graduation but not until next year. I have fabrics saved from the quilts I've made for her since a baby as well as 2000 prints from the year she was born. Seems an appropriate way and time to use of all of those.
That is such a pretty quilt! She will cherish it always.
My first thought was an echo stitch inside the hearts. Then a long wavy stitch down the sashing. I prefer a more minimal quilting to my tops, but the stippling would also work nicely. You could stitch a heart in the corner blocks to match the heart pattern.
Beautiful quilt! Your GD will love it! So bright & happy!
what about echo quilting around the stars? Then maybe cross hatch the border.
luv the colors....very pretty!

Beautiful quilt. I like doing heart quilts and yours is gorgeous. Can you share where you found the heart pattern. TIA Sharon

So colorful and cheery, your granddaughter will love it to pieces.
Love the hearts and bright colors. My kind of quilt!
So bright and cheerful. I would stipple it to hold up under lots of washings. This one is going to get used.
Blocks are approx. 8" square including the background fabric.
