My dd had to change my grs {3 on Thurs} bed as he had peed
She put on clean sheets and he wanted his Thomas quilt Grandma had made. Mom says that one is in the wash as you just peed on it. She gives him a blanket. Did Grandma make this one ? Mom says no so he says he wants one Grandma made! So her stepson was not there that nite so dd pulls his that Grandma made off the top bunk and gives it to him. He curls up and goes back to sleep. They just warm our hearts! Gale |
Dont you just love the little ones. My son not so little(17), slept on the couch over the weekend. I keep a fleece throw on the back. In the morning I get up and see him all curled up with an old dollar store quilt I bought second hand for two bucks, just becuase it was 2 bucks. Later in the day he comes in my sewing room and sees the denim rag quilt I made years ago and says I looked all over for that, all I could find was this stupid thing holding up the 2 buck quilt. Now he had two blankets on the couch but the only one that was satisfactory was the one mamma made. Now thats love.

When my daughter went off to college, I made her a quilt - my first double size quilt. 5 years later, and in her own home, she still uses the quilt Mama made her. I understand how you feel Grma33 :)

I love this post. Several years ago I made a quilt for my son. He was watching TV in the living room one winter night and I said, "Go get your quilt". He gave me a funny look and said, "You made that for me and I'm keeping it in my room, if I bring it out here you guys will use it." I never dreamed he thought that much of it. He recently moved out on his own and I have another in the works for his couch.
