iceblossom your quilt sounds like its going to be pretty what size block do those templates make?
The Flynn template is for a 10" block. The fan blades are gently curved at the top to make a nice smooth arc and not just straight.
I've made other Fan quilts in the past using traditional patterns but apparently I gave away my books on making fans or at least they aren't on the shelf and I know I used to have two different books. My previous quilts were done in traditional methods, everything pieced in.
Since I knew this one was going to be especially scrappy I really wanted acrylic templates as being easy to cut with. And then when I came across the Eleanor Burns method, I knew that was what I wanted to do with my turkey feathers!

I bought my “Marilyn Doheny” Dresden plate template at my LQS. She had many sizes and I bought the big one. Mine makes a 47” dresden plate. I would check your local LQS first.
