I have seen the GFG with a diamond in the edging to join the big flowers, but I am at a loss as to how to make the diamonds.
My hexes are 5inch, so what size do I make the diamonds? |
Shouldn't the each side of the diamond be the same measurement as one segment of the hexagon?

I want a queen quilt. When I place 3 flowers on my bed with the white paths between, it doesn't quite cover the top of the bed. Even with an extra set of white hexagons for the border I need a little more room. With the diamonds added, that means my center flower will also be surrounded by white hexies and I believe that will make the space. I am open to other suggestions also. I thought the contrasting colored 6-hexie "diamond" was attractive and it would necessitate adding that white border so I may just do that! |
