I have always wanted to do hexies but have only done one individual flower for practice and I liked it. What is facing? I would like to try a baby quilt so start with but don't know anything about hexie quilts, so any advice would be appreciated.

Your border magic looks as if it belongs to the original quilt, so beautiful the quilt and your ingenuity.

Becca,

Yes, the back is quilted. You hand quilt the whole top then apply the facing. I like the facing idea because it preserves the scalloped edge of the quilt. Check out this web site, it shows how to apply a facing to a grandmothers flower garden quilt by Marci Baker at Alicia's Attic.

I have watched it several times and have decided to do this for the facing of my quilt. Will send picture when it is completed.

Happy sewing from Houston, Texas!

Kathy
