I am sewing Cotton Theory, Fold & Finish in Courthouse Steps. I am finding and happy about it too, by the way, that I am using up fabric and batting pieces. All you need is 4 inch strips of fabric and 2 inch strips of the batting. It is going to be colorful. I have had to pick up the odd piece of fabric, not much! for some color. All in all this is very good. The blocks are a good size when done. And the thing is, it takes time to get the pieces ready, but once done the block is done as it is a quilt as you go. Sharing this with you all, you have shared so much with me. Thanks. (The only harder part will be joining the strips into rows, it will not be more difficult, just a bit heavier, I THINK)

I have been wanting to try the Cotton Theory for sometime but too many other projects get in my way. I would love to see your finished project.

I was gifted the Cotton Theory book by a generous person on this board. I have read every page at least a dozen time. It is a great book. I am still trying to get up the nerve to actually try it. I think my first project will be placemats. Please post pictures of your finished project. Can't wait to see it.

Blessings,

I can not wait to see it, too. I have to work at getting it done. It is a good change from regular quilting. The stitching takes the time in this one. Nice when it is done, though.

Could you post a picture of this project? Something I would be interested in trying.

Here is a site which shows the fold and finish cotton theory method. It is pretty with all of the stitching.
(Hope this works)

You know I finished reading the explanation of it, the closing words fun...yes, fast....not sure? and unique...certainly. The fast thing about it is the quilting on that block particular block is done. I am enjoying sewing it, love the stitching, which is what takes time. Try it, you might like it!

I've made one quilt using her method and it was very easy. I'm wondering now why I don't use it more often.
