I like the look of this square....haven't seen it discussed yet or maybe I missed it. Anyone used it in a quilt yet?

I think it Looks like what I would call a "folded box" I made a bunch for a block exchange a couple of years ago. I put a really pretty rose in the middle. Never got around to actually putting that group of blocks together, it is on my UFO List.

I've not seen a folded box block....can you post a pic of one of your blocks?

Ok, I was mistaken, my square is a little different from yours.

I didn't pick the block with the prettiest rose to take a picture of either, sorry. The colors aren't quite right, the blue looking color is an dusty violet.

It's not really my square....I just happened to run across it while looking for something else and liked it.
That's a really nice folded box square....I love the colors you used with the rose in the center.

I have it in a sampler I'm making.

I used two in a block of the month.

2nd row, all the way to the right, and 3rd row, two over. I liked making that block, went together nice.

Looks a lot like the old churn cash pattern.

Seems more impressive as "Grecian Square"

Churn Dash

Your block is beautiful. It may not be the same, but is real close. What a pretty quilt it would make.

I think you're right bearisgray......it is a variation of the churn dash.

This is the block that was used in a class I taught in fall 2007. The pattern was called Regal Splendor (Wal-Mart) pattern the quilt was made of this block only. It worked up to a pretty quilt. A few of the participants did not like the process because so much cutting and sewing was involved ~ but over the years of teaching there is always someone that will have a complaint for one reason or another. I have attached the picture that was with the pattern. It's a scan and not a very good picture but you will get the idea.
