So, my Hubby sweetly took my little girl out on the town with him to run errands so I could get some quality time with my quilty stuff. The first quilt day I've had in WEEKS.

I planned on spending the afternoon working on my sunbonnet sue calendar blocks for the swap. Last week I bought new pack of "steam-a-seam Lite" for my applique. As soon as I took it out of the package, I was dissapointed. The waxy paper was falling off the adhesive. I perservered and traced all my patterns. Today I put them on the fabric and began to cut them out.

Well Geez, my dissapointment was multiplied exponentially! I can only get about two or three pieces cut out before I have to go and wipe my scissors with alcohol to get the residue off! The scissors get sticky so fast, I am unable to accurately cut out my pieces!

I am so frustrated, I have put the whole lot away and thought I would vent and check out the board. I have wasted most of my afternoon and now I don't know what I will do since Hubby will be home soon.
My quilt craving has not been satisfied yet!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rr.

I hope everyone else is having better quilty luck today!

Sounds like you got a bad batch. I have had the paper come off too easily but no gumming problem. Sorry your day got spoiled, even if you were glued to the spot. Just think of the bumper sticker "a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work" and change it around to suit your fancy.

Wishing you quality time tomorrow.

I have wondered about Steam a Seam! Now I won't bother! I use Heat and Bond and rarely the layers will seperate. And my scissors never gun up.

I use nothing but Wonder Under #805!!! I go thru 2-3 bolts a week and never have any problems.

Sew sorry you had a bad day. I went to a quilt day sponsored by my guild and learned a new technique to set blocks on point. Will post it when I get it together!

That really sucks! I wish you better luck next time with that stuff.

RBQ, so sorry about the problem with the stuff! Put it away & get the Wonder Under or whatever you want to try next time. The longer you look at it today, the longer you'll be frustrated. Go to your to do list & see what you can do in a jiffy & maybe have it done by the time they come home. Do you have the receipt that you could take this back? Go outside if the Sun is out where you are. Change of scenery help tremendously.

What bad luck! Just when you need a quilty fix bad and you have the opportunity, technical difficulties get in the way! Hope you found something to do in your time alone that you had left that will satisfied your quilters heart.
