What other fundraising has your guild done other than a show or raffle quilt that has been a success?

We had a lot of fabric bits that had been donated to the guild over the years - far more than we could use for comfort quilts, and it was becoming a problem to store it all. We had a sale at the local senior center, marked everything at $1/yard, and made $700. We also sold used quilting books, patterns, etc.

The guild I'm in now has started a home tour in conjunction with the Dorothy's House festival every year. I missed it last year because I wasn't here and the next one isn't until next year. I think they had 5 homes on the tour that were filled with loads of quilts and they charged $5 to take the tour.

Dorothy's House is from the Wizard of Oz. There's a house and a museum here.

We have a dollar table at each meeting where we bring in fabric, books , magazines anything sewing or quilt related that we don't want anymore and others can buy them for a dolloar.
We also did a craft fair last spring, seeing it was a week after a tornado and wasn't well advertised and we made $300.00 I thought that was pretty good

The Guild Show I was at yesterday raised $$ in these ways at the show
* admission fee
* lucky draw for two large quilts that they'd been selling tickets for at other times
* twonie draw (our $2 coin) -- you got six tickets and there were 35 wall hangings in the draw; you could drop your tickets into the corresponding #d bags that you wanted the prize ... or all into one bag etc.
* bazaar boutique -- members had brought in finished quilted, sewn, knitted etc. items; fabric bundles, FQs etc.; old magazines; and just about anything. The way the items were labelled it appeared each person put their price on it, and % to the Guild, and % to the owner/donor
* lunch room
* vendors market -- they would have paid a fee for their space

I think that was all the income generating possibilities yesterday.

Our guild had an auction. Members donated items everything from books to 5x5 sqs to UFO and one of the member was our auctioneer. I bought two UFO quilts and other items.
