Had experience with roc-lon bamboo/ccotton fabric?
 

I purchased a bolt of bamboo/cotton muslin a few years back and am wondering (before I wash and dry a yard) if anyone has experience with how much this fabric shrinks?

There is nothing on the Rockland Industries web-site about it.
Does anyone have some experience on this?

I haven't used the muslin but did have some printed pieces I bought at a quilt shop 10-11 years ago. Made table runner & placemats with it, they turned out great & I didn't experience any shrinkage. I am pretty sure I've used some of the scraps in a few quilts too. If you are concerned why not cut a piece and wash/ dry it? I have washed ( regular cycles, warm water, regular dryer settings) my placemats many times over the years.

Thanks ckcowl, that will be my next step. I am trying to use it as a foundation to back some poly/cotton pajama squares to make memory pillows. Most of the pj's are thin summery ones. OK, next stop, laundry.

Does the end of the bolt not have washing instructions?

I've never used it, but it does say dry clean only, but then in the text it says it is washable and shrinkage controlled. How confusing.

I hadn't heard about bamboo being used in fabric.

This is the info I have. The bolt is roc-lon made by Rockland Enterprises Inc.. Their website says all their stuff is made in the USA but this bolt says Pakistan. Hmmmm. I think I bought it in 2010 or so. Washing instructions: warm water, gentle dryer. I did it in hot water and regular heat in the dryer. Shrinkage was 2.5 inches length wise but negligible WOF.
I'm using it to back some squares cut from very light poly/cotton pajamas for a several memory pillows.
The bamboo makes this feel really silky and they are also using bamboo in batting.
