Had An Idea After Sewing Up Lots Of String Blocks

1 Attachment(s)
I cut 2 - 10" squares and 2 - 18" long, 2" wide pieces from two fabrics and made these four blocks. I'm saving this as an idea for an easy two color quilt top in the future. I'm curious if this is already a pattern and what it is called. If you know, please tell me.

Love your idea !

QuiltnNan 10-11-2016 12:07 PM

there is a quilt pattern called lattice quilt but the strips are all one color. i like your idea

elnan 10-11-2016 12:13 PM

The strip on the diagonal through the center reminds me of Eleanor Burns' Radiance quilt pattern.

I don't know if there's a pattern by a particular name, but I like your design.

Stitchnripper 10-11-2016 01:17 PM

That's it. Thanks for finding that I love it.

This would make a fun FQ scrap quilt...should be able to get the cuts from 2 FQ's with some leftover.

ILoveToQuilt 10-11-2016 04:18 PM

Really nice in blue and white! Will put this idea away in my bucket list, too. Thanks for posting!

redquilter 10-11-2016 04:40 PM

I have no idea if there's already a pattern out there for this but I do LOVE this. It's neat, clean and crisp looking.

maviskw 10-11-2016 05:56 PM

This is going to look really neat when you get more of the blocks put next to each other.
Really pretty.

jmoore 10-12-2016 02:10 AM

It would look great made up in a quilt... thanks for posting your idea.

greaterexp 10-12-2016 02:15 AM

goatquilter 10-12-2016 03:11 AM

Very nice design My head is wondering what it would look like scrapy:) Love the idea:)

Friday1961 10-12-2016 05:09 AM

No idea if it has a name, but it is striking! This will make a beautiful quilt when you get it all together. I'm so impressed by your lines matching so well, too!

annette1952 10-12-2016 07:42 AM

MSQC has one similar. She used 4 charm squares & sewed together in a 4 patch. Cut it ( the 4 patch)diagonally one time & sewed the strip on. It isn't just like yours but close. I think this is the link https://www.missouriquiltco.com/land/... I love yours with the blue & white. So pretty!

maryellen2u 10-12-2016 09:06 AM

Name it and call it yours! I like the crispness too but I love anything with white.

JanieH 10-12-2016 10:09 AM

Great design for a two-color quilt. Thanks for sharing!

Jingle 10-12-2016 03:41 PM

Good you got the name. Most always someone on here will know whatever you want to know.
It is very pretty and a good idea.

That would be it. A fun pattern and will eat up plenty of scraps too, if you like that look. The crisp blue and white is stunning.
peace

JuanitaBean 10-12-2016 09:21 PM

I like your idea

SherylM 10-13-2016 05:51 AM

I love this! I just ordered a 10" square template from MSQC because I thought it would be a good way to use up some of my big scraps and random yardage that I bought "just because".

This is perfect and now I have all kinds of ideas running around in my head... :)

Innov8R 10-13-2016 06:06 AM

I couldn't find a block like this anywhere. Maybe it is completely original, but it certainly is very nice.

Quiltingfragments 10-13-2016 09:19 AM

Love It!

Don't know if it is already a pattern, but I love the block. Will make a beautiful two color or even a scrappy quilt. Would love to see a whole quilt made in the blue and white. Congrats!

Fabric Galore 10-13-2016 11:45 AM

I love the looks of your block and the fact that it is so easy to make. You have a very creative mind.
