Half Hexagons....

How do you baste a half hexie for a GFG quilt? Are the little corners suppose to be tucked in, or are you just suppose to clip them after they're sewn to the rest of the quilt? I have searched EVERYWHERE and can't find any instructions, pictures or guidance for this process. Thanks once again for any help anyone can give.

I have never seen a half hexagon used as a full one would be. half hex's are usually for ease of sewing rows and a short cut from getting by without doing Y seams. Just look up GFG and you should find something. look in Tutorials here too.

I'm going to use the half hexies to finish off the top and bottom edges so that it's straight.

Personally I always trim the rabbit ear to keep the seam straight and as flat as possible. Don't know if it is right but on a triangle you trim the ears so why not an a hexagon. Don't go lower the
An 1/4" .

after sewing them all in, you would trim any little "ears" off.
