Half square triangles now called Triangle squares?

I just bought a new magazine and found tips on making triangle squares. new name for half square triangles evidently. I do wish they would stop changing things and stop making up new names like swoon blocks. i can't keep up. I still don't know all the measurements for pre-cuts yet.
i think the mag was fons and porters Love of Quilting.

You've got to remember you are dealing with thousands of quilters. You'll find a lot of variation in terminology across the spectrum.

That's funny because recently I was reading an older quilt book ('pre-computer/cutting mat/rotary cutter' days) and half square triangles were called something else. I'll have to see if I can jog my memory about where I saw that.

Let's face it: magazines are out to sell magazines so they want you to think it is something new. That is one of the reasons this Board is so great. You get the straight story.

.......... and sometimes the differences are regional or national differences!

This is nothing knew for quilting.

Quilt blocks were known by many different names ... and even today, they have so many different names.

Eg. Churn Dash = Monkey Wrench = Hole In The Barn Door = ?

Eg. Apple Core = Axe Head = ??

So are you going to ask for history to be re-written?
