Half square triangles
I have been saving HST from my quilting projects. I now have large drawer full of odd sized, odd colored HST.
Any thoughts about how to go about using these. After all the work of squaring and sorting and saving, I would hate not to use them for something. I do love scrappy. Thanks for any ideas....... |
Have you checked Quiltville? Many of their free patterns use lots of HST.

I would just sit down at a table with a big stack of them & start playing around with them- there are so many different design/layouts you can make with half square triangle blocks- it is fun to just sometimes move them around, turn them this way & that- small ones can go together to become larger ones- the sky is the limit- they are one of the great blocks you can do so much with. :)

Check out Bonnie Hunter's http://www.quiltville.blogspot.ca and look at her Split 9patch blocks. Those half square triangles would be perfect in those blocks!

Between Bonnie Hunter's idea about starters and enders and all the fantastic blocks you can make as per the Craftsy video, I think I need to get organized!

Maybe try arranging them by dark and light with an Around the World feel. Like this: http://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2012/...triangles.html
