Hamilton Sunday Help

We are planning on a quick driving trip to Hamilton, Mo , MSQC from Texas on a weekend. We just found out that the International Quilt Museum and MSQC are both closed on Sunday. Any ideas on how to spend our last day up that way? Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hopefully, the posters from the area will come along and help you with info.

Is there any way to adjust your visit and bump it up a day before?

I wish we had longer for our visit. We will drive all day Friday and be in the Kansas City area Saturday and Sunday. We drive back to Dallas on Monday.

Angela Walters has her shop in Liberty Mo,which is between KCMO and Hamilton--not sure if it's open on Sundays but worth a check. There's also a quilt shop in Parkville, Lee's Summit and Lamar Mo--all of which are likely on your way. Also, visit the Liberty Memorial WWI Museum in KCMO--you can have a meal across the lawn from it (but a bit of a hike)at the Union Station(two resturants plus a couple of snack places) then to go the WWI Museum--it's interesting and if you go to the buildings on either side of the Tower, one of them has a collection of quilts and other crafts that the WWI soliders made--very cool!
If you are going I-35 you might want to swing over to Lawrence KS to the KU Spencer Museum---they have a big collection of quilts but not always out on display.
