Hand bag patterns

Does anyone who makes quilted handbags have a pattern for a simple bag with a flap closure? I found a free pattern, but it is beyond me. The instructions make no sense at all, and the measurements are all in centimeters. I am so frustrated right now just trying to make a practice bag, that I had to walk away. And it really didn't look that hard...LOL.

There are lots of free patterns online, just look for messenger bag free pattern and loads come up. Most are easy to understand.

You might be able to find one at http://www.sewingsupport.com/sewing-...ts/purses.html

or at http://pursepatterns.com/free_bag_patterns.html

I have found several that I liked.

AllPeopleQuilt.com has a good selection of free bag patterns. I have found their patterns to have good instructions, although I haven't made a bag yet. I have used several other free patterns from this site and I get their magazine.
Just remembered I did make a bag for my daughter to take to her son's baseball games from one of their patterns. It went just fine.
