Hand print quilt questions
Someone on my Facebook posted this handprint quilt and I would love to do it for my next grandson's quilt. She said the handprints were done with acrylic paint.
Would you think this quilt would wash well and endure the test of time? Thank you for your answers. Blessings, Janan |
I use to paint on t-shirts using acrylic paints. I would spend some time at JAF looking thru some how to books and various types of the acrylic paints. It is just simply using a brush to load the paint on his hands and have him press slowly and carefully on the pre-washed fabric. He should enjoy it.

What a wonderful idea! I am amazed at the wealth of ideas on this Board. Thank you for posting! (Saving this for sure!)

We used to do fish print tshirt with one of our science units. We (the teachers) ironed the shirts once the paint dried to set the paint. They held up very well!

You can find paint made for fabric at Joann's and hobby stores.

Thank you for your replies! One more question, though. The quilts I have made so far for my grandchildren are intended to last them a long time and to be something they would be proud to save for their own children. Do you think this type of quilt would take washings over years time? I know I've already asked this, but I was particular about the others and I want to be just as picky over this one.
Thanks and blessings, Janan |
