I don't like battings with a scrim for hand quilting, it is not so easy to quilt them and I can't reach the result I would like to have.

I hate to sound so naive, but what is "scrim"?

Thank you for all your suggestions!

I like low loft poly, Quilters Dream in the lightest weight, and Blue Ribbon Cotton - which is my favorite. I don't like Warm and Natural, because I find it hard to hand quilt through.

Scrim is a very thin netting-type material, mostly polypropylene. It is added to the batting fibres while manufacturing. The scrim makes the batting more stable, therefore you can quilt those battings with distances of quilting lines up to 10" apart or even more.

Don't use Warm & Natural as it's so hard to needle through. Polyester or wool is great for hand quilting.

I was wondering how Bamboo was for hand quilting...I'm going to give it a try...thanks.

Warm & Natural

I was thinking warm and natural would be too heavy also. I use that for machine quilting. I do like using the bamboo, it doesn't pull apart and is light. So many decisions!!!
