Hand Quilting Desden Plate

Would it work to hand quilt the individual blocks of Dresden plates and then assemble them in a quilt? I know after you quilt the block it would need to be sized but I would cut it a little large to allow for this. Thanks for your input.

Look up QAYG or Quilt As You Go videos. You can quilt individual blocks and then connect them with sashing.

Yes, if you did QAYG. Otherwise I don't know if it would work.

I've done a lot of quilt-as-you-go. I loved the portability of block by block. The question to ask yourself is whether you like finishing work or not? There is a lot of finishing once you have the blocks quilted to assemble the rows. The thing to remember is to not quilt within 1/2 inch of the edge as this is your sewing line.

I can no longer hand quilt, so now do machine quilt-as-you-go. However, for that, I do section by section or row by row.
