Hand Quilting Needles

I started hand quilting several months ago. I have mastered the rocking method and thoroughly enjoy the relaxation that hand quilting give me.

I am hand quilting a GFG quilt top. I was wondering what needles you prefer to us. I tried the Roxanne #10, too small and have a problem going through all layers of my quilt top. I purchased some of the Thimblelady needles, I like that they are longer but they seem to bend often.

I am a leftie and seem to get better stitches and consistent stitches with a longer needle like a #7. Have not tried the John James #7 yet, seems to have good reviews.

Anyone out there who prefers longer needles for hand quilting? If so, can you share the type you like.

Thanks for hot Houston, Texas.

i like John James and Roxanne Needles- I also like them longer than the (traditional) betweens- i tend to choose either a sharp or a milner- in sizes 8-10
