Hand quilting question

I have a lot of YLI silk thread and thinking about using it to hand quilt a top. Has anyone use this before to quilt? Will it be strong enough?

Ihave only used cotton for the little handquilting I've done. Anxious to see other replies from the experts. Good question.

I checked the Superior Threads silk thread page, and they have several kinds of silk thread they say are appropriate for quilting. I've read that silk thread is very strong.

That is expensive thread vs thread made for quilting which has a waxy substance so your thread won't knot. Not sure if it will show up your hand quilting.

Over 15 years ago I used black silk thread to quilt a baby quilt. It's held up through washings and the "baby" still has it.

Silk thread is very strong, I have made beaded earrings before, I always used silk thread to sew the beads together. I use silk in my needle turn applique.
