Have you or would you use hand quilting thread to machine quilt? I am just sewing my bom squares together. The thread is 32% cotton and 68% polyester.

Do not use thread designed for hand quilting. This thread has a wax coating which aids hand quilting, but can damage the tension discs on a sewing machine. ...

And not to mention all the DUST that will accumulate inside your machine! (Please don't do it!)

The thread for hand quilting and the thread for machine piecing are actually wound differently, which is another reason you don't want to use hand quilting thread in your machine. I think that's what causes all the dust, though I am not 100% positive. I do know that using hand quilting thread in your machine will cause frayed threads and will result in a lot of breakage, which is highly frustrating!! I learned that many long years ago, before I knew any better.

I used it on my sewing machine, and I have have major tension issues every once in a while. And I knew better too.... Needless to say, I echoe everyone else. DON'T USE IT!
