Hand Quilting Thread use in machine

Hi all.....can I used thread I bought that says hand quilting in my machine and machine quilt with it?
I would save and use for hand quilting, but is purple and don't have a frequent need.
thanks

I would NOT. Hand quilting thread is coated and will not behave nicely in your machine.

I agree with Peckish -- not good in a machine.

No No No, This may be the only rule in quilting. Hand quilting thread is waxed and will wreck havoc on your machine.
peace

Everyone is right. NO, NO, NO and absolutely NO. It has a waxy substance that is NOT good for you DSM.

If you're not going to use it maybe someone will swap with you.

I'm glad you asked! I was tempted to do the same thing!

Big no no! My machine had to go to the shop for a timing adjustment after using hand quilting thread.
