Hand quilting with Wool Batt

A fellow quilter gave me a batt of the wool batting that is layered with tissue that separates the layers. How close do I teach my daughter to hand quilt it?

unless you can find the exact brand and can check with the company, I've used both hobbs and legacy (pellon) wool batting and those instructions say a 4" maximum. Neither one had tissue separating the layers. If there is enough, you might want to quilt a small sample & wash it and see how it goes.

Check the name of the manufacturer, they usually have the information located on the packaging. If not, then check their website. Never encounter wool batting with tissue paper separating the layers.

Hmm, it could be a hand carded batting and not commercially manufactured. I would err on the side of caution with this and keep stitches a maximum of 2" apart.
