Try the tiny Clover clips. They are wonderful for hand sewing the binding to the back!!

Thanks everyone -- you've convinced me to try them.

I use Aileens glue baste it. It seems to give me a nicer straighter edge and no pins to poke me. Really like it.

Suggestion: if you press the binding away from the quilt edge, and then press the binding back over the back of the quilt...you may not need clips...the binding just behaves better.

I use office binding clips.

I used to add the binding clips around the quilt as far as they would take me. I have 3 boxes of them so sometimes I can add them to the entire quilt. Then I decided to just add about 10 and keep moving them over as I sew along. Works just as well as putting them all on at one time and little chance they will get knocked off when I fold it up for the day. My kitty likes to play with them and I'm still finding them under recliners and in her toy box from time to time. Think I've found most all the loss ones now.

I, too, have arthritis in my hands. The binder clips really do help.

Based on a recommendation from someone on the QB (sorry, I can't remember who or when), I recently ordered a pack of 50 small clips and 20 larger clips. They are called Super Clips and I think I paid $9.99 for them. My Clover clips kept breaking. These appear to be a little stronger.

WOW! What a difference the clips make! I was half way through a binding when I asked about the clips and I bought hair clips (thanks grammasharon!) today at Walmart, 12 for $1.96. I just finished the binding and I have no pain in my
hands. These clips are right up there with the big board ironing board I made a few months ago - two things I wish I tried years ago, but, better late than never! Thanks all. You guys are great!

I also use the office clips....a lot less expensive.
