Handi Quilter Square Feet

Just a quick recommendation - Handi Quilter Square Feet set.

Saw these at Festival of Quilts - HQ Square Feet are designed to aid in achieving straight seams while piecing on your quilting frame. These feet can be used as a guide for consistent seam.

I thought "Hmmm, don't have a frame but I do have Sweet 16 sit down with conversion kit", so I bought a set.

A simple SITD on a twin size quilt took about 20 minutes. It was so much easier than faffing about with a straight ruler and easier than trying to do SITD using the round Surefoot or open toe. I made a little sample block of chevrons - worked a treat. You can use these feet with rulers for long straight runs.

On YouTube there is a video of piecing QAYG blocks which I want to try. There are videos on how to use the feet to attach a binding - think I will stick to my DMS for that.

The only two criticisms:

1 - there isn't a red line or notched guide on the foot like a domestic sewing machine in-line with the needle. I drew one on with a soluble pen, and that worked just fine.

2 - these feet are made of clear plastic not metal.

Overall - well worth the investment.
