How do you hang or display your quilts. Looking for ideas. I don't necessarily want to put rods up all over the place with sleeves. Or decoratve rods. Again looking for ideas.

My husband makes me the coolest hanging racks. I have two, one in the kitchen that looks like a shelf and on in the living room.
It is also a shelf that holds a quilt.
I will try to find pix of them...when he makes them he cuts a groove out so that the binding will FIT into it..then it is just screwed down and it holds the quilts!
The one in the living room is only about 3feet, the one in the kitchen is more like 6.5'!

this is the one in the living room

I'd like to know what size quilts you are thinking of for display. Size does make a difference.

For my larger quilt display area I used electrical conduit and then the supports for it to hang it on the wall. To hang my quilt I used those plastic skirt hangers you clip onto plastic hangers and used twill type tape through the holes and sewed the tape into circles so they would go onto the conduit. Those hold my quilt quite well. This way I can change my quilt to suit my mood or the season.

I have a quilt ladder that leans against the wall. You can easily display several quilts and change them out. Also it is easy to move from place to place.

I have two quilt racks that my DH made. I also have a quilt ladder that leans against the wall, and have them on the backs of a sofa and several chairs. I have one railing that I frequently use in the foyer and another one I keep folded on top of a blanket chest in my bedroom. My wallhangings are only about 28x28 or a bit bigger and those are hung on dowels that fit into two eye hooks.

Keepsake Quilting has these wooden clips that you attach to the quilt and hang up on the wall, eliminating the need for rods and making sleeves for your quilts. Never tried them myself, but they sound kind of neat.

On my beds or over the backs of chairs or couches throughout our home. I also paint so I have no room on the walls for quilted art. Most of them I don't display because when they're done they're given away, donated to charities, church fund raisers, or a very few are actually sold.
