Hello everyone hope your day is just dandy. Mine is I will go see my grandchildren this afternoon.

Now for my question...
How do you hang quilts for wall hangings?

Thanks a bunch.

Some I make a sleeve on the backing and others I make loops along the top of the wall hanging. These will show. In both situations there is a dowel for the item to hang from.

Take a square of faqbric fold it in half on the diagonal rightsides out and sew in top corners of the quilt to slide dowel in and to hang quilt It cant be seen and holds the whole quilt up

A sleeve that runs the length of the quilt I can put a dowel rod in and hang from. Because it is the whole length of the quilt, it holds up quite well.

I learned a very simple way from a quilt pro. Make a tube of fabric at least two inches wide when finished. Sew it to the top of the back of the quilt. Slide a piece of thin wood like a yardstick or a piece of furing strip inside the tube. Finde the center of the back of the quilt and tube and go about three inches out in each direction. Use a loop of ribbon or string, attach each end with a thumbtack pushed into the tube encased wood. It should look like the wire on the back of a picture. You can hang it just like one. Every wallhanging in my house is hung so.

I put sleeves or tabs for wallhanging and have a beautiful wrought iron quilt rack that a friends husband makes.
