I have finished by bargello quilt, and have hung it on my livingroom wall.
The quilt measures 53 x 68. Its has been up only for a few days. It doesnt lay flat. Am I jumping the gun asking for suggestions how to make it go flat. I know you can put weights at the bottom to help pull it down. I however did not Iron it before hanging it. Would that help\??? I have never hung anything to this size before so any and all suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Karen :-)

I iron everything before hanging. I saw a quilt that had small triangular pockets in each corner and a rod inserted to make lay flat. It worked winderfully.

I would block it. That's the best way to make it lie flat without resorting to force (rods, weights, etc). Wet it down, pin it square, and let it dry (just like blocking a sweater). It will retain the shape it dries in until it gets wet again, and since it is hanging, that shouldn't be a problem.

hmmmm, you may have to wet it and block it to make it hang straight.
