On Pfaff machines with vertical bobbins - just leave the bobbin door open

We are all glad we have the sensor because it lets us know whats coming; or about to end. The thing is we'd like to be able to keep sewing until the end of the bobbin does happen. For some when the sensor goes off, the machine stops until you put a new bobbin in. There is normally alot of thread left on the bobbin when this happens.

None of my machines has a low bobbin sensor. If I run out I just clean the area, put in a full bobbin and off I go.

I have a Viking Sapphire and if I just continue to sew when the alert occurs I'm ok. If I press the "ok" button, then it only goes a few stitches. Consequently, I ignore it if I'm trying to complete something.

I have the Pfaff Quilt Expression and when the message shows up on the screen, I just ignore it and keep on sewing until the bobbin runs out, and since it has the drop in bobbin, you can see when that is going to happen.

Thanks Sandy l. I have a Pfaff Performance 5 which is almost just like the Expression and I'm going to try that. I'm wasting too much thread on these alerts.

I tried it on my Performance 5 and it worked great.

I don't think it would work, as my Janome indicates if case not closed. Will have to have a go as the amount of thread this sensor wastes is terrible.

I have adjusted the sensor so that my bobbins are almost empty when the alert comes on. It's an easy fix with screwdriver. My machines are Brother ULT's and Babylock Ellageo embroidery machines. I used to be changing while the bobbin was still half full.

My sister has a low bobbin sensor on her machine and if she uses a different style of bobbin than what came with the machine then the sensor doesn't work. It drove her crazy after a while too.
