A happy quilt story

Out of the blue this morning, got an email from my stepson, age 40, with a picture of his son (age 6) and the quilt we had made for SS 30 years ago, asking if we were surprised it held up so well. I was surprised he had kept it all these years!
At least that is one quilt that I know of, that didn't wind up in a dog bed!! I feel so sad when I read those stories on QB. The pattern is "Crosspatch" from "The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America" by Carrie Hall. |
Thats awesome your SS values your quilt so much, great reward for all the time you put into making it for him so long ago.

It's wonderful to see the picture of a 2nd generation using a quilt you made. Great quilt, too! So glad they are enjoying it & I'm sure it makes you feel good!!

That's great! I have a quilt my sister made me when I was in my early teens. She simply sewed two satin sheets together with batting, because I believe I wanted a purple satin comforter (ooh la la!). I still have it. Now, as a quilter, I can see some of the sewing mistakes, but I still love it because she gave me exactly what I wanted.

Awesome surprise. Awesome quilt. It's heart-warming to see that your stepson loved the quilt so much that he still has it as well as taken care of it and is so proud of bit that he has passed it onto his son.

It looks like it was made yesterday.....so timeless. Love this photo.....a grandson, a loved quilt, and a book♥

It looks like your SS took good care of the quilt and his son is really enjoying it now.
