I've had the last one in my cutter for the last two quilts plus cutting a lot of scraps into strips and it's still as sharp as new. I've been using them for over a year with no complaints. If I ever get a dud I'll just toss it and still be way ahead in the quilting funds department. Sorry you got a bad pack, but it can happen with the name brands too.

I will try cleaning them with alcohol, I tried with a tissue but it didn't seem to help. I find it hard to believe that I have taken 6 out of the package and not one cuts. If it won't cut a single layer of cotton fabric it sure isn't going to cut carpet. LOL

I was having problems with my HF blade; decided that must have been a bad one. Put the 2nd one in and still had a problem. After reading this thread, I took the suggestion and flipped my board over. There we go! HF blades remain my friends.

I haven't had a problem with my HF blades yet. I wonder if the same company that makes them makes the other rotary blades. Or are there manufacturing plants for each different brand? Different processes?

Just curious ....

Are HF blades interchangeable with ALL brands of rotary cutters? .. as long as the rotary cutter is the same "mm" size, that is .....

That's a good question. I guess we should list what brand of cutter we have and see if maybe it's the rotary cutter and not the blade.

Mine is a fiskars brand and the blade works for me.

Olfa - two different kinds, same size

Sorry you're having problems. I use the hf blades all the time. They work in both my fiskers and my olfa.

I've been using the same blade now for two months and I cut lots of fabric(not only for myself but for my MIL and some friends) I did make the mistake of putting both blades out of the same package in my cutter once and knew it right away...If you like paying for the expensive blades..keep on doing it...myself I save money whenever I can . It gives me more money for fabric and anything else I want...I coupon(save 1/3 to 1/2 off my grocery bill EVERY month) and watch for sales and very proud of it....

My HF blades made "cuts" and "craters" on my new cutting mat. What a mess!
