I'm the same as EasyPeezy- I love e-books but not anything instructional or with patterns etc.
My favorite e-books are fiction. |
real books for me.

Miss Rosie's Farmhouse Favorites is a favorite of mine and in book form. Interested to know what designs caught your interest? I love to buy books but often never get around to making anything from them. Sort of like some of the fabric I purchased, now that I think about it. LOL

Book all the way. I listen to audio books so I can multi-task but it is a pain in the neck to have to go to technology every time I want to double check a page in an online or digital pattern to review directions or to confirm cuttings sizes. I also often will make changes to a pattern such as larger or smaller and I use lots of sticky notes. Sticky notes don't work well with an e-book. :o

Ditto EasyPeezy and SusieQOH . I love ebooks because if I fall asleep I don't loose my place.
I'm also a rabid audiophile- I can get anything done with a good book in my ear! |
It seems that the general concession is actual book over e-book. Yippee!! I'm not alone in buying books.

I love my books. I have noticed everyone in my group who purchased Kindles, no longer seems to carry them. Holding a real book gives me such pleasure anytime, anywhere.

I love my hard cover books. I have eBooks that I put mostly fiction on. I tried to copy a recipe from one of the eBooks so I could make a recipe from it without ruining my eBook and it wouldn't print so I will opt for hard cover. Lynda

Nothing to do with old school. I read e-books all the time but when it comes
to quilting I prefer paper to digital. If there are templates you definitely want the paper. When you download templates, chances are they will very seldom be the right size. Been there done that. Also, you have to remember those e-books might not be available in a few years (unless you can download and store then on your computer). They will just vanish and you will be out of luck. |
There are advantages and disadvantages to both. If you don't have space for books then definitely the e-books are preferable. As far as whether the colors are accurate or not doesn't matter to me. If I'm going to use a quilt pattern I'm going to chose my own colors anyway. However, I prefer thumbing through paper books and magazines. At one time I had accumulated so many magazines I ran out of places to put them. So now I go through them before I throw them away and scan the patterns that I want to keep to my laptop. I can categorize them into separate folders to enable me to find them easier. If I need to print them I can, but unless there are applique pieces to use as templates, I usually will just follow the directions right off my laptop. I guess it all depends.
