It make one BIG ironing surface. I will offer one word of warning. This table attracts crap to it. If you are not careful piles of crap will be dumped on this lovely surface. |
I have an older version with the storage shelves under the middle. It has the swing-out legs which don't provide the best support, but I use it all the time! I bought the full size mat on sale and it fits nicely under a bed if you need to store it for awhile. I just roll the folded table into the closet when I have company. I bought mine on sale and think it was a great buy!

Have this table and yes the sides fold down, so you can
have one side up at a time. Very handy and worth the money. Betty Lee |
I bought one when it was on sale online. Love that it fold up and tucks away neatly. Very convenient and a nice height to use.

I have a rollout table, has extensions on each side, drawers on both ends and I just love it...whatever works, you will love it!
|
I also have this table and I love it - but I will warn you that the screws come out easily and it will lean. We had to "strengthen mine" with L joints, etc. but mine gets used a lot.
|
My mother bought me one for my birthday and I really like it. You can use one on side and it is stable. I say get one!
My mother had a more expensive one but I am happy with mine! |
I have had mine for years. I got two from Hancocks and one came from a friend who got it from Joann's before she passed away. I love them. Sometimes I put two together end to end when cutting fleece or side by side when I am pinning a quilt back. They are worth the money. You use it with one side down as well with both sides up. I don't think I paid over $60 bucks for them though.

I LOVE mine. I got it with a 50% coupon and a sale, cost me $48 after Christmas. I have one side up right now. I think it is awesome! I am 5'10" and it is just right for cutting, planning, etc. I want to get the mat for it. when my sewing room is done, I will have it in the corner with one side up. When I need it, I will just lift the other side, pull the larger mat out from behind it and, voila! I am a very happy camper (no, quilter! lol)
|
I bought one about 4 years ago and it is okay it is sturdy and you can use it for cutting out and for other things as well. Like basting and stuff. I have used it 1/2 up and the full table. The only thing is that my sewing room is too small for that and my 2 sewing machines and myself. They are sturdy and helpful. They are versatile as well. If you have the room it is a good deal if you will use it a lot and if not it is too tall for eating off of.
The cost is reasonable as well, so I guess it is up you. |

You can fold it down totally and it is about a foot wide...or you can fold one side down. The wheels are great too. I can fold it up and roll it away when needed. |

I got a flyer in the mail today and it's going to be on sale for 69.99. I was wondering if any one has one and how they like it. Also, was wondering if you can just have half of the table up at a time? Whether that's an option or not. Go look at it up - not in the box. I bought mine it weighed a ton took 3 guys from the neighborhood to get up the stairs and put together LOL. Then after that the legs do not open straight out they are on an angle making it hard to put things under it. I would look for the ones now that have storage under it. That looks like mine but maybe a newer model. I like it & it does fold up but I tend to have it open all the time, because I have the 34X60 mat on top. Thanks for any feed back. Carol |
My friend just bought one and loves it. I think it is possible to put up only one side at a time. The cutting table works like a gate leg table. You lift the side up and the support mechanism underneath
swings out from the center. The height is perfect for cutting - no back strain. Happy cutting! |
Yes and I love it. My husband had to replace a couple of the hinges, but no problem after that. It also comes in handy for potluck buffet dinners when I have company over.
|
I bought one about 4 years ago when I was doing my beading full time and love it. I now use it for a large ironing board for my quilting. I bought ironing board material and backing (2 yds each) and it fits perfectly and I use it when the quilt top is finished and I need to do a good pressing. I am lucky in that I have a cutting table which is heavier that I use for my cutting, etc. I have used the table with only half of the table up, or just sometimes the center with both sides folded down, so it is versatile. Think you would be happy with it.

I bought mine about 17 years ago from Joann's and still love and use it.

Yes I got one for Christmas and I love it - so much easier on the back and it does fold down one side or 2 then it doesn't take up much space.
|
I bought one years ago and loved it and when I moved I gave it away, bought one last year and I hate it'! It just is not steady, yes you can have only half the table up but it really is kind of shaky. In fact I am buying a much better cutting table and the Ft. Lauderdale quilt show on Saturday!!

I have had one for many years and really like it. You can open the whole table or put up one side without the other. It is wonderful for cutting and ironing if you have an ironing pad. Really doesn't take up much room and is therefore a help in our crowded households. All the best.
|
My husband got it for me a few years ago and I have used it a lot. Yes it can b used half at a time and there is a bin made to hold basic tools and scraps and such.
|
Yes, I got one last year when I bought my quilting sewing machine and I love it! You can fold it up and it doesn't take up much room at all, then expand it out when you need the cutting space.
|
I bought one several years ago - love it. Sides fold down so it doesn't take up much room when you are not using it - also sturdy with just one side up. Have also used it when quilting to help slide fabric. One of my better purchases.
|
I have the table also and love, love, love it. I have used it with just one side up with no problems. I have one cutting mat that I use when it is only half up and the big one when it is fully up. Just a hint, the large mat comes rolled up so it has a bad curve in it for awhile. I laid it upside down under a bed to get it straightened out. I also used a couple of those really large binder clips to hold the mat to the table. When it's not up for cuttings, I have a table cover over it and use it as a sofa table. One of best purchased I ever made.
|
I have one but not this style. Mine only has 1 leg to support the leaves of the table. I have had mine for about 3 years and have had to put metal brackets on all the leg corners and the top has come loose from the frame. I am waiting for my brother to build me one. I need one I can move around a lot and let up and down without it becoming the leaning tower of sewing room.
|
I have it and I love it. I use it for everything from cutting fabric to wrapping gifts. It can even be an extra table if you have stools. Folds down great, too.
|
I have this table and it's great. But....if your under 5'4" you might want to leave the caster off so it lowers the table a little. If possible, try actually cutting on it at the store.
|
I've had mine for several years & love it. I used a sharpie marker & measured out 1" lines along one side to use for measuring - works great.

Wow! Thanks for all the feedback. I am 5'8" so it should work well for me. Yeah. My back will be so much happier!!
Now I hope I don't miss it when it finally goes on sale. That would be bad! Thanks again. I enjoyed reading all the comments and suggestions. Carol |
Yes I purchased one about a year ago. Not as sturdy as
I had hoped it would be. Hubby put some extra braces on it so I do not have as much trouble as it did. Also the side table hinge came out of the wood right away. |
I have one of those tables from Jo-Ann Fabrics too. I truly have used me extensively and yes, you can use half of it at a time. You see, the supports for each half of the table swing out from below the center of the table and can be positioned anywhere under that side of the table and the other side works identically. However, that said, if the swing support underneath the table half is not positioned right, it will not provide enough stable support for that half of the table. Nothing wrong with that, but you need to know that before using the table.
|
Go for it. Don't forget your coupon! Roz
|
You know, several have mentioned that they've had this or that problem with their table coming apart or needing extra stabilization. I've had my table for probably 10 years now and I have never experienced any such problems and mine has been through 2 moves in the past 4 years. I can't enough good things about this table. In fact, I've thought about this and if something happened to my table, I would go right back to Jo-ann Fabrics and buy another one. I did catch mine when it was on sale too. Got it for just about half the regular price.

I looked on JoAnn's site for it too. And couldn't find that one. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/p...RODID=prd49750 |
I loved the one I had worked great it was hard to sell when we moved into a MTH to fulltime had to clean out my craft room :(
|
I've had this table for a few years now and just love it. It's portable and folds up to a very small size. When open, it gives you lots of table space for cutting and sandwiching your quilts. I got mine with a 50% off coupon and got a great deal. I'd recommend it! :D
|
Yes I bought one for my DDIL and she loves it.
