Has any tried a scrappy warm wishes quilt?

I have been busy cutting up some smaller pieces of fabrics-less then 1/2 yd pieces into strips and now I'm wanting to do something different with them. besides log cabins, pineapples, jelly roll races-done them all several times.

I think that in order to do a scrappy version it would require planning. I googled it and didn't really find scrappy versions. You guys are terrible talented and figured someone may have tried it.

I love this pattern, I've made several with 3 fabrics.

I've not done it, but it should be really easy and pretty as well. Looks like it is just alternating rail fence and plain blocks of whatever size you want to make.

I think the main thing is to keep the rail fences the same for each block, to give it that cool framing effect. Guess I need to put my makeshift design wall back up and play a little. I take a large piece of batting and pin it around the poles of the shelving unit. It doesn't look classy but it works.

Sounds like a wonderful scrappy quilt the way you've described it.

I think the warm wishes would work well with scrappy strips. If not the same fabric, concentrate on placing fabrics with the same value.

I would also suggest looking at Bonnie Hunter's website for some patterns. www.quiltville.com

Charity-crafter -- I was about to post the same type of question. I was thinking to make a warm wishes I Spy quilt. I have looked at many of the Bonnie Hunter patterns, but since it is I Spy I want to have larger squares. What I am having problems with is getting the contrast of the rail fence stripes so they really show.

Just a note the yellow brick road pattern lend itself really well to the scrap sizes you mention.
