Has any1 tried any of the Martelli Products?

Good Evening Every1,

I am curious about the Martelli Notions brand. I have seen them on youtube and was wondering if any1 on the board has, likes and used their products. I am interested in three different products.

The 1st product is: the Stitch-N-Ditch Binding Foot. Has anyone tried (or currently own) one? Does it work? Do you like it? Would you recommend it to quilting friends??

The 2nd product is: the Zip Bind System. Has anyone tried (or currently own) one? Does it work? Do you like it? Would you recommend it to quilting friends??

The 3rd product is:Minute Miters, half-inch, 4-pack. Has anyone tried (or currently own) one? Does it work? Do you like it? Would you recommend it to quilting friends??

Any help, suggestions or information is greatly appreciated. Please and Thank you in advance for your time. I am sure that with all of the talented people on this board, there is someone on here who has used them.

Have a blessed day.

I buy fabric and their ergonomic rotary cutter. I love their store and they carry beautiful fabric, high quality. Sorry, I have never used the items you asked about.

I have the zip gun that applies the clips to hold the binding. It works fine and the clips are reusable and stay on the quilt tight. The mats and cutters are excellent. That said, now..
Martelli was banned from the Paduah quilt show. I talked to other vendors about this and no one had any good to say about the Martelli vendors. I was told how they hire young guys to woo and flatter the quilters into buying and then they joke about it behind the scenes how they could sell anything to them. The vendors close to their booth complained about the rudness. They were at the Paducah mall vending the next time and employing the same tactics of luring ladies in and sweet talking them. I sit and watched them for almost an hour and really realized what was going on after hearing about it. I will not buy their products as long as the company allows such unseemly sales tactics.

It sounds like a totally different company than the one at our quilt show here in Hampton but it's not. There were mostly women, old, young and in the middle. They demonstrated everything with no pressure to buy. I like most of the products except for the large binding clip; I've gotten two of them and they've fallen apart. The med and small one works great. I have a large binding clip dispenser since these were orginally made for office supplies so I use it instead of theirs. But I have to say the in the past couple of years that I've been to their shop here I haven't seen any of what you are talking about. But maybe there isn't as much competition here. I don't know or they hire different people for different shows. It does sound like they need to set up some guide lines for all to follow.

I tried the Foot that makes it easy to sew curves. Sorry to say it broke after about the 100th block. I didn't find it any easier than the good old fashioned pin. I love to do curved piecing too. I am not trying to bad mouth the company. The tool just didn't suit me.
peace

I've never seen Martelli vend at a national show that wasn't young men and the one woman who demos the binding system. Maybe they have changed since the Paducah situation. I'm sure they got feedback from it.

I really like their rotary mats. Several friends use their rotary cutter and blades and like them. My hands do't allow me to to use the rotary cutter, darn.

I do know that they are good about sending out any replacements if needed. I have found them easy to dealwith. But, I don't pay attention to all the demo's anyway.

i have a number of Martelli template acrylic template sets which i've been using for 7 or 8 years and love- and some books- i didn't even know they made so many other things- guess i will have to do some looking- the templates are great- if you do piecing that uses templates often.

This was on the Martelli website for 2011: Last year, we made some serious alterations to our show schedule, becausesome promoters chose not to renew our contract with their shows. We accept these decisions with regret, but have made arrangements to be at other venues in the areas during those shows, and will continue to do so, because of our commitment to our customers.
We will be at alternative venues, with shuttles to and from other show locations, both in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Paducah, Kentucky.
