I was wondering about something quilt-y for a checkbook cover. I don't want anything too bulky, though. Any ideas? I was toying with making something up using scrapbook papers somehow adhered to an inexpensive checkbook cover.
Also, I saw a nice idea for a [small] stuffed bird in an old Family Circle magazine, but I didn't care for the shape of the bird. Their bird was done up in a red fabric with gold embroidery. I have a table cloth my Mom's cousin bought for his mother while he was stationed on Guam, how many years ago??? When I received it, it was still in the original box. Needless to say, the fabric came apart at every fold, when I tried washing it (also years ago). But I saved it, thinking some idea would come along. If I could make up a few small birds from this fabric, I could give them to various females in the family for their Christmas decor. Thanks for your help! |
check out Rhonda's e-books. The one she has for blocks makes cool ones. The ads for them show up on the bottom of the screen a lot.

I believe I will try one of these checkbook covers. I have several "favorite" fabrics...maybe I'll make one for each season. Now to find the time! |

Are you working on your checkbook cover? |

How's this one I made? All I did was trace the open register and make it a little larger, add pockets and a velcro closure.

I made a checkbook cover using a Lazy Girl pattern. Well actually I made several...they were Christmas gifts a couple years ago.

Hi Craftybear,
I started two covers from one of the patterns....they are about 2/3 complete. I hope to finish them up today (should be easy, while all the Super Bowl shows are on). |
