has anyone hand quilted using king tut?
 
I luv the blended color of 100% Extra Long Egyption cotton or should I only use quilting thread? Thanks Gale forgot to say its king tut

Yes, I have used King Tut as quilting thread. I love it.

it is a beautiful thread, isn't it? I haven't tried hand quilting with it, but I do love how it looks when I use the longarm. I also use the leftover bobbins to top stitch with my regular machine.

You could always make a little pot holder, placemat, or mug rug to try it out.

Superior has other variegated threads that are thinner and maybe easier for handquilting. One is the new So Fine variegated and Fantastico. Superiorthreads.com

King Tut is very nice thread. I have used it for hand quilting on my Grace Z44 Pro hand quilting frame. I was lucky and found some partial spools for sale at a quilt shop that long armed quilts and sold King Tut threads. The spools had about 1/4 of the thread on them, and sold for $1.00 each. I don't think that it was any better than some of the other quality threads I have used before, but it was nice to use.
