I tried using the red ring halo and I didn't think it helped. The video makes free motion quilting as easy as drawing but is not cheap. I only would get it if I could get some positive reviews.

I have the Halo and it took a lot of practice to get the feel of it but once it kicked in I love it. It's for small quilting designs not big loopy loops or squiggles.

i just watched the video and i'm not seeing how the octi hoop would be dramatically different from the quilt halo.
i have the halo and use it for micro quilting on small items i don't want to put on my frame. |
Hi I don't post very much but I had to add to this post. In the last day or two someone showed info. about dense black foam called quilting buddies (I think that is the name) for using when FMQ. I have not tried these but I thought that the scrubbing spounge that we buy for pots and pans might work. I had some that I bought at Target some time ago and still had some and got those out and they work just great. One in each hand and you can just zoom along. Try it. Oh yes, the spounges I had were about 1 inch thick.
