Has anyone tried Quilters Dream Orient Blend Select Batting

I found it on Fabric.com, it says it is like silk, warm in the winter cool in the summer and lays nice. But has 3% shrinkage- would I pre-wash this? Has anyone tried it and what was your opinion of it?

I have used Dream Orient and LOVE IT! no- you do not need to pre-wash it- I've been quilting since the mid '70's and have not yet ever considered pre-washing a batting- I do not know why anyone would go through that. warm & natural shrinks 3-5% (or so the package says) but really shrinkage is quite dependent on so many things- all of the materials used- how dense a quilt is quilted- how a quilt is laundered---all play in the outcome- if you don't want shrinkage wash it in cold water & dry it on fluff- or low heat. it is wonderful to work with and quilts up beautifully...the only batting I like more is Dream Wool (which does not shrink at all- is lightweight, lofty, breaths, cool in the summer and warm in the winter)

I have some, but haven't used it yet...I hear it is very nice. No don't wash it....you will regret it. They shrinking process makes for a comfy homey feel...if you don't want any shrinking use a poly batting.

Will not use anything else unless I need black!!! It is sooo soft, drapes beautifully, is very light, etc. I could go on & on. Only needs to be quilted at 10" if you like. I've never had shrinkage problems and have not pre-washed. Its made of bamboo, silk, a natural eucalyptus fiber (Tercel) and ? Wool? Cotton? Hand or machine quilts easily. Try it!

Does the dream orient have loft or is it similar to cotton

Thank you ckcowl, treasure it, and kitsie - I value your opinion so I ordered it. It think it will be nice in So. Cal because it is hot so much of the time and my grandson's room is upstairs where it's very warm. It's really wonderful having this board to turn to for advice, since I am new to quilting.
