Have any of you used the Waverly cotton solids sold at Walmart?

Do they hold up okay? I'm just starting out, and while I would like my quilts to hold up to washing and using, they aren't exactly heirloom quality as far as the workmanship. I needed a solid for a table runner this afternoon and it's almost an hour to a fabric store from my house and found the Waverly at WM. Before I buy any more fabric from there, I wanted to get opinions from those with experience.

I have been happy with it. Cannot say that I have used it in a quilt that was washed many times, but I did wash it before cutting and sewing.

Waverly is a well known name for upholstery and home decor fabrics and linens. No reason to think their quilting cottons wouldn't be good just because Walmart carries them. I've used several of their prints and been happy but I haven't used the solids. The solids Walmart used to carry were very thin but I don't recall the brand.

I haven't used them for quilts, but I've used Walmart Waverly in other projects. I made pillowcases for nephews and nieces last summer when I went to visit. The only place to buy fabric was WM. They've been washed lots and my sister reports they look good. I've made an apron for my mom too and it's been washed often and has held up. I think both of these projects have been laundered more than a quilt would have been and they look fine.

I'm lucky to have lots of places to buy fabric, but if I lived in my sister's town I wouldn't hesitate to buy Waverly. It beats not being able to quilt at all!

Thank you all. Sounds like a safe purchase! I think I'll use these to practice making lap quilts.

It is surprisingly nice! A friend of mine uses it a lot and I tried it when I couldn't find a color I wanted. It was good and didn't ravel as much as Moda!

i measure most of my fabrics before soaking them in hot water with a drop of or two of Dawn added to it.

the Waverly solids that i purchased from Walmart washed up.beautifully.

there was some shrinkage - but no more shrinkage than most LQS fabrics.

Waverly cotton is 60 x 60 and made from short staple cotton. For comparison Moda's thread count is 65 x 65, Kona Cotton is 60 x 60 but made from premium long staple cotton. The difference of quality of short staple cotton from long stable cotton is a big deal in fabric and thread.

I've used the Waverly fabrics in one quilt that have been washed a few times. It washed fine and is holding up well. It's one of the quilts that my daughters love to use as a playmat, so you can imagine the love and use it's getting!

The Waverly patterned upholstery fabric I bought at Walmart was a disappointment.
The decorative pillows did not hold up well
The ottoman cover ruined in the wash.
The price was attractive though
