There is a cooking website where you can put in what you have on hand and it will spit out several recipes. Does anyone know of a site where I can do that for fabric. I bought 6 fat quarters of a fabric collection and then added 1 yard of a matching print. Now I need to find a pattern that fits.

Need pics of the fabric. That will help make the decision. It may 'talk' to us and tell us what it wants to be.

I wish there was a site like that. Wouldn't it be fun.

That would be so awesome if there was such a place!

Usually when new collections are released there is a pattern released to with a vision of the pattern the designer have in mind. Maybe there was a pattern released with your collection. Go to the web site of the designer.

There is a woman who designs fabric for one of the major fabric companies that was interviewed on Quilt Out Loud and she did that, but I can 't remember her name.

   Wouldn't that be great!!!! In a round about way maybe EQ6. Atleast you can import your material and play with different blocks to see what you like.

type in "free quilt patterns" and hit search. I've found lots of patterns that way.

Have you thought of the "Yellow Brick Road" pattern by Terry Atkinson? It's one of my favorites. It is especially quick to cut and piece. The fat quarters can be the center of the quilt and the yardage for a narrow border and binding. Another thought would be making 5" or 10" blocks to make a charm type quilt. Other options could be log cabins, half square triangles, stars, houses, etc.

Love your fabric.

I got that free pattern but it it is a doll size quilt. I need to make something bigger. I like the log cabin idea and I may go with that. And you are right this is the site to post the fabric and get help with the pattern.
