First of all I would like to ask any and all of you an opinion of paper pieceing mariner's compass versus folded way??
Next I shall try to post a pic of quilt that I wonder if any of you know the pattern and if so where I could obtain it. Thanks so very much! |
I don't know the answer to either question, but what a beautiful quilt!!

I do not have an answer for you either, but that quilt is just beautiful!!!

Personally if I was going to do a Mariner's Compass I'd definitely go paper pieced. Where did you get the photo of the quilt? Is it from a catalog or an Amish web site? If it is then chances are there isn't a pattern.
|
Looks like an Amish quilt to me too--never been able to find any patterns for those beautiful Amish quilts :(.
|
I doubt there is a pattern for the Amish Quilts. They usually were/are designed by the maker and often associated with the maker. If you will notice they are parts of many other designs reassembled. It is possible the maker drafts his or her own overall pattern.

Pretty quilt. Don't know the answer to either question. I would never even attempt to make one.
